PSEG KEYS ENERGY CENTER: CONSTRUCTION STATUS UPDATE (as of October 3, 2016)
Work at the plant site continues with the critical path being the installation of building foundations. The first major foundation, for the #11 Combustion Turbine-Generator (CTG), was poured on September 24th. The #11 Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) was poured on October 1st, and the foundation for the Steam Turbine-Generator (STG) was poured the morning of October 3rd. Erection of the Demin and Fire Water Tanks has started. Construction of the new PEPCO Cheltenham Substation and Plant Switchyard continues with the installation of tower supports and underground cable vaults
(Note: The helicopter flying near the PEPCO transmission towers this month is replacing the top Overhead Protective Ground Wire from Chalk Point to Burch Hill). The heavy haul transport schedule has all HRSG bundles on site by Oct 30.
The off-site water/sewer system installation has been completed by Ferreira Construction Company. The final paving of Brandywine Road by the old fire station being done by October 4th.
