Update: Short-Term Road Closures Of Old Indian Head Road, Tower Road And Small Section Of Brandywine Road

In the coming days there will be several road closures required to install new water and sanitary sewer pipelines to support the new PSEG Keys Energy Center project. Short-term closures will be required in portions of Old Indian Head Road, Tower Road, and a small section of Brandywine Road (Maryland Route 381) beginning on or about June 20, 2016. During the temporary road closures, local access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.

On or about June 6, 2016, electronic Variable Message Signs will be installed along Old Indian Head Road and Tower Road providing details on the upcoming road closures such as the dates of the closures and specific affected areas. In addition, detour signs will be posted during construction.

Representatives from PSEG and/or Ferriera Construction also will be personally contacting affected local residents in advance of each road closure to make sure the project schedule and duration are communicated and all questions/concerns are addressed. Coordination with local fire, police and emergency first responders, as well as, all applicable County and State officials is being conducted as well. Anticipated closure dates and durations are as follows:

• Closure of Old Indian Head Road on or about June 20, 2016
• Reopening of Old Indian Head Road on or about July 8, 2016
• Closure of Tower Road on or about July 11, 2016
• Reopening of Tower Road on or about August 4, 2016

Scheduling of the temporary road closures has been targeted to coincide with summer break for local schools to minimize impacts to the local community and school bus traffic as much as possible. Following the completion of water and sanitary sewer pipe installation, Old Indian Head Road and Tower Road will be restored via full width mill and paving.
